“What do I do if I get an STD?”
If you have – or think you may have – an STD infection, you should see your healthcare provider for testing immediately. There are numerous STDs both curable (chlamydia, gonorrhea, or syphilis) and incurable (HIV and herpes). Your healthcare provider can answer all your questions concerning them. It is up to you to take responsibility for your continued sexual health.
If you do not have a provider, you can go to any health care clinic or the state department of health for testing. Usually, you do not need parental permission to get STD testing.
