Dear Experts, Can you actually have sex with someone and not get an STD because STDs are transferred by the exchanging of body fluids, right?
You can have sex and not get an STD, but only if you are having sex with someone that DOES NOT have an STD. The problem is that many people have an STD and don’t even know it because they are not having symptoms. It is very important that anyone who engages in unprotected sex be tested for STDs and to talk to their health care provider about how STDs are transmitted, the symptoms of an STD and the consequences of having an STD and not getting treatment. When in doubt, ALWAYS use a latex condom. Your care provider can teach you the correct way for a male to put on a condom and how condoms need to be stored to be sure they don’t break.
